Tropical Drink Recipe: Sand In Your Shorts

The "Sand In Your Shorts" drink from Bucuti & Tara Beach Resorts, Aruba, was inspired by an exceptionally sandy guest who requested that the bartender exercise her creativity with a refreshing drink recipe. She mixed up this concoction: a frosty drink with rum and coconut, which gets texture from finely grated ice.

SERVES 1

  • 1 oz. Malibu rum
  • 3/4 oz. Creme de Cacao white
  • 1/2 oz. Coconut cream
  • 1/4 to 1/2 oz. Island Oasis vanilla ice cream base
  • Ice

Instructions: Blend all ingredients; for best results, use a high-grade blender. Optionally, garnish with a cherry.
