Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Has A New Challenge For Thrill Seekers

Guests can explore the ocean and test their limits with acclaimed Maui free diver Kimi Werner.

Hawaii's Big Island beckons for outsized adventures on the largest island in the Hawaiian chain, whether visitors are inland exploring the extreme landscapes of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park or cruising the sunny west coast of the island near the popular resorts area around Kailua-Kona.

The newly renovated Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island is an ideal luxury base for all kinds of ocean explorations into the real Hawaii—scuba diving in the wild with the mantas of Kona or snorkeling with a marine biologist with some 4,000 tropical fish within the resort's 1.8-million-gallon lava-rock aquarium. Plush suites and villas with ocean views and private pools maximize vistas and make it hard to re-enter the real world. Guests will be forgiven for staying on property for most of the stay.

The Deal: Learn the basics of freediving from a Maui pro when booking the Kimi Werner Ocean Experience, the latest offering in the resort's "Only at Hualalai" range of experiences that will see guests spending two half-days with the championship freediver learning how to explore the depths on a single breath. The sessions included a guided underwater intro to the sport in King's Pond with Werner, as well as a boat trip in a RIB boat to test news skills in the ocean realm.

Photos of the adventure both above and underwater are included as well as the gift of a cool pair of beachy kicks from celebrated Hawaiian-inspired footwear brand OluKai, a partner in the experience.

The Dates: This offer is available through 2022, based on availability.
