How To Make The Tequila Sunrise From Velas Resorts
This cocktail is a splendid part of your morning routine at these popular Mexican hotels.
The best part of waking up is typically not a splash of tequila liqueur in your cup. But when vacationing in Mexico, anything goes. That's why Velas Resorts created the Tequila Sunrise amenity earlier this year, so guests can enjoy the unmistakable flavor of tequila any time of day, and they don't even need something like National Tequila Day as an excuse. Delivered directly to the suite with a pot of fresh coffee, 1921 Tequila Cream liqueur and fresh whipped cream, this cocktail is made with blanco tequila, coffee, milk, cinnamon and anise.
But if you're not rushing out the door to Grand Velas Los Cabos to try this morning delight for yourself, and you're more in the mood for a tequila sunrise that you can enjoy around sunset, you're still covered. The same brilliant mixologists who gave us a radical take on the michelada and the eyebrow-raising wheatgrass margarita have offered up this very simple recipe for the tequila sunrise.
National Tequila Day (July 24, if you're keeping track on a calendar) may come and go, but our love for tequila is year-round.
