By Rick Stevenson

VACATIONS

For fans of beautiful outdoor getaways, nothing can compete with Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. If you’re in the area, you might also want to visit the town of Front Royal.
The main draw of Front Royal to most will be its proximity to Shenandoah National Park, but there are other outdoor adventures easily accessible from a stay in Front Royal.
The famous Luray Caverns are just half an hour away from Front Royal by car. Visitors to the town can also try fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, birding, and disc golf.
In addition, Front Royal boasts a number of wineries, meaderies, and breweries. There are also a lot of great local food spots, like Spelunker's Frozen Custard
and Cavern Burgers.
