A beach vacation takes money, and not everyone has a huge budget. Thankfully, recent reports have identified one stunning Caribbean island that’s cheap to visit: St. Lucia.
Skyscanner noted in its Travel Trends 2025 report that airfares to the island from the U.S. have dropped 25%, and savvy travelers can find cheap places for food and accommodation.
St. Lucia has an abundance of natural wonders that beguile visitors, including the lush Pigeon Island National Landmark. Hiking and swimming are popular here.
As with any destination, St. Lucia is more expensive in its tourist centers, so budget travelers should eat locally at places like Liz Roti and shop at the supermarket chain Massy Stores.
For cheap rooms, book self-catered apartments or hostels. Also note that flights to Hewanorra International Airport, the larger of St. Lucia's two airports, are generally cheaper.
