Visit This Family-Friendly Beach For Fun Away From Chicago Crowds

VACATIONS
Chicago is home to 24 beaches, making for some excellent warm-weather outing opportunities. Foster Avenue Beach in the historic Lincoln Park neighborhood is great for a day of fun.
Foster Avenue is a completely man-made beach along Lake Michigan. As a Yelp reviewer wrote: "Foster is definitely smaller, but there's plenty of room to spread out."
The beach is next door neighbors with the Get a Grip Trapeze School and has a beach house area where you can rent bikes, use the bathroom, or get something to eat.
There are several important rules Foster Beach guests need to follow. Dogs aren't allowed, you can’t feed the abundant wildlife, and you can’t swim without on-duty lifeguards.
Foster Beach is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and swimming is only allowed from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can check the swimming status on the Foster Beach website.
