VACATIONS
New Jersey is best known for its beautiful beaches, and one can't-miss destination in the state is Long Beach Island (LBI). Its 18 miles of shoreline offer tons of family fun.
Whether you want to relax on white sands or play mini-golf, there's something for everyone in LBI. Summer is the area's peak season, thanks to long, hot days and cool nights.
Beach Haven, the island's busiest borough, hosts Fantasy Island Amusement Park, which features rides, an arcade, and food. Entry is free, and you can pay per ride or game.
The area is also home to Old Barney, a 165-year-old lighthouse situated at the northernmost tip of the island. It is the perfect spot to start your day, and entry is just $3.
The island also has many beaches to choose from, all with different vibes. For a quieter, more relaxed beach, visit Loveladies, Harvey Cedars, or Holgate, a great surfing spot.
Bayview Park boasts a playground and calm, shallow waters where kids can splash around or try stand-up paddleboarding. Beach Haven is a great place for group camping.
