VACATIONS
Vermont has enchanting towns throughout the state, but the town of Montpelier stands out. It was established in 1781 and was named after Montpellier in Southern France.
Montpelier is the smallest state capital in the U.S., but it is full of greenery, churches, and historical buildings, which evoke images and landscapes of French villages.
The city hosts the Capital City Farmer's Market where vendors sell local items. Throughout town, there are family-friendly attractions like the Vermont Historical Society Museum.
You can't leave Montpelier without visiting the Vermont State House. This impressive structure was built in the 1800s and is open to the public with no admission fee.
