The German Tourist City That Has Designated Zones To Get Naked

VACATIONS

Travelers may be surprised to find areas in Munich, Germany, that are nude zones. In 2014, the city designated six zones after laws prohibiting nude sunbathing expired in Bavaria.
These zones are new but not revelatory because nude beaches have been a normal part of German culture since 1920. The country is fairly open to the notion of naturism.
If you’re in Germany and spot a FKK sign — “Freikörperkultur” or “free body culture” — then you’ve stumbled upon a nude-friendly area. It might be a park, beach, or sauna.
A few nude zones can be found at Munich’s English Garden. The area of Schönfeld Meadow between the Grecian Looking Temple and the Japanese Tea House is for nude sunbathing.
