The Clever Way Samantha Brown Uses Silica Gel Packets For Travel

Instead of throwing out the silica gel packets that come in boxes of new items, travel expert Samantha Brown recommends keeping them handy when traveling in a TikTok video.
If you receive a "liquid detected" notification on your phone after a day of swimming or exploring, placing the phone in a Ziploc bag with silica gel packets can help dry it out.
The silica gel packets work by attracting moisture, helping to dry out the device. She advises waiting 24 to 48 hours before turning the device back on after the packet trick.
Additionally, Brown suggests carrying a FedEx plastic bag. If your laptop gets wet, just put it in the bag along with silica gel packets and wait for the moisture to be absorbed.
She also advises putting them inside walking shoes to dry them out after a day of sightseeing. In humid climates, place them in your makeup bag to keep cosmetics dry.
They can also be used inside musical instruments like guitars to protect against humidity changes and in bags containing wet bathing suits or dirty laundry to reduce moisture.
