PBS star Samantha Brown is well-versed when it comes to California's wine destinations, and she endorses Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County as an underrated wine region.
On her blog, Brown includes the city in a post highlighting lesser-known wine regions, writing, "With its quaint main street and small-town vibe, you can really relax."
Paso Robles grows 60 grape varieties. Its distinct climate, which is warm during the day and dramatically chillier at night, allows grapes to thrive in its 11 viticultural areas.
The area has more than 200 wineries that churn out all kinds of wine. Brown loves JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, which has vineyard tours on eBikes, ATVs, barrel tasting, and more.
Brown also suggests AronHill Winery & Vineyards, which has a picturesque tasting room and a bistro. She also proposes that visitors have a meal at Il Cortile Ristorante.
