One Paris Landmark Is More Susceptible To Pickpockets Than All The Rest

The U.S. Embassy & Consulates in France says that major tourist sites are the favorite locations of groups of pickpockets, and the Eiffel Tower is a particularly notable example.
Often, one member of the group will ask you for help or bump into you. Then, while you're distracted, their accomplice will reach into your bag and take off with your items.
To combat this, stay alert while you're at the Eiffel Tower, time your visit to avoid the worst crowds, and leave your most important items in your hotel room.
If you realize you’ve been pickpocketed, don’t try to chase down the culprit, as they've likely already handed your stuff to somebody else. Simply report the theft to the police.
