VACATIONS

Located less than a three-hour drive from Los Angeles, Joshua Tree National Park boasts countless trails, but the Ryan Mountain Trail stands out for its breathtaking sunset views.
It offers stunning desert vistas where hues of blue merge beautifully with electrifying orange tones at sunset, an experience highly praised by many reviewers on Tripadvisor.
To fully enjoy this spectacle, hikers are advised to start their trek one to two hours before sunset and bring a headlamp or flashlight for the descent as darkness falls quickly.
This 3-mile hike should take no more than three hours to complete. However, it features an elevation gain of over 1,000 feet, making it more suitable for experienced hikers.
Additionally, the temperature in Joshua Tree can easily exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer, so it is best to plan your hikes for late fall, winter, or spring.
