VACATIONS
Lake Oroville in Butte County, California offers travelers a unique experience: visitors can pitch tents on floating campsites and enjoy a vacation on the water.
Located in central California, about an hour and a half north of Sacramento, Lake Oroville offers a ton of activities to visitors, from fishing and boating to hiking and camping.
Lake Oroville’s ten floating campsites are made of buoyant double-decker platforms. The upper deck is open for pitching tents, while the lower deck houses the site's amenities.
The campsites are accessible by kayak, jet ski, or boat, which you can rent at the Bidwell Canyon Marina. Each site can host up to fifteen people and three vessels.
Campers can hike miles of trails with sweeping vistas of boats in the bay, take part in exceptional fishing at a bass-fishing tournament, or try out water sports.
