A New Floating Taco Bar Is Coming To St. John
You won’t want to miss the incredible food and cocktails from the owners of the Lime Inn.
What do you do when you already operate one of the most popular restaurants in St. John? You build a floating bar, of course, and instantly add a new must-visit destination in Round Bay. Since December, the owners of The Lime Inn in Cruz Bay have been teasing their latest venture, the very appropriately named Lime Out, which will be the first-ever floating taco bar in the Caribbean.
In addition to a menu that features taco dishes from chef Amaro Rivera, Lime Out will offer everything from wine and champagne to tequila shots and craft cocktails. But what makes this venture truly intriguing is the all-green concept that includes no straws, 100 percent recyclable waterproof menus and biodegradable food containers. Lime Out will also be solar-powered, according to the Caribbean Journal.
Nearby boats will be able to take advantage of Lime Out's delivery service, while visitors on rafts or other floatation devices can pull up and hang out while they enjoy a green curry chicken taco and Flip's Grapefruit Margarita.
Because of licensing restrictions, guests won't be able to actually sit on the floating bar, so anyone without a raft will have to settle for a spot at the swim-up bar.
But don't book your St. John trip just yet. Lime Out isn't quite ready, and the only opening date the owners have offered is the typical island-time response "soon." When the floating bar finally opens, it will be anchored in Round Bay, near Hansen Bay beach.
