This photo was taken by Ty Sawyer, editorial director of ISLANDS Magazine, when creating the Maui feature in the December issue. It is of upcountry Maui, which wraps around the slopes of Haleakala in a fertile ring of farms and ranches.

This was the view from my pillow when I awoke on my first morning in Cancun. A very warm welcome indeed. Taken with my iPhone.
This is my friend Kevin tightroping across a lagoon in Xcaret where manatees were swimming below. He made it without a splash! Also taken with my iPhone.
Also taken in Cancun on my iPhone from the terrace at sunrise. Weather was perfect: still, serene, warm soft breeze. The sun had a sparkly determined feel about it — nothing would keep it from shining warmly through that day.

Took this one on a live-aboard before the first morning's dive. It was a very tranquil shot with one of the skiffs in the foreground. Most of the "islands" on the trip were nothing more than rocky outcroppings, but they all had unique qualities for diving.
Can't go wrong with any photo of Bora Bora. I managed to capture this one just as the entire island was tilting to the right. Luckily I was able to maintain balance without spilling any of my Hinano. It's a great island, warm friendly people, great diving, snorkeling, very romantic... it just has a tendancy to tilt periodically.
Another tricky action shot requiring a steady hand, a keen sense of anticipatory timing, and a strong understanding of which way is "up". Bora Bora...
Island sunsets are always a highlight of a vacation. This one's at Poipu Beach on Kauai.
