Petit St. Vincent's 'Private Peninsula' Keeps Travel Safe And Intimate
Designated a ‘bubble resort’ by the government, PSV makes physical distancing simple and ideal.
Despite St. Vincent and the Grenadines reopening on July 1 and maintaining a rigorous protocol for travel and entry, the nation's hotels and resorts have followed at their own pace, ensuring that health and safety guidelines are in place to protect both guests and employees. One of the region's best kept and most beautiful secrets, the private island resort Petit St. Vincent didn't reopen until November 1, following seven months of closure, and its advantageous setting made it a perfect choice for "bubble status."
What that means is that unlike Caribbean resorts that require on-site quarantining for periods of up to seven days, Petit St. Vincent offers guests the ability to avoid that fate and simply enjoy the island's 115 acres and thorough list of amenities and activities. Of course, that is also contingent upon guests providing the results of a negative PCR test taken within three days of arrival, and a second test upon arrival.
With 22 freestanding accommodations and all open-air communal spaces, in addition to the fact that the entire island is a resort, PSV (as it's known to longtime guests) was an optimal choice for the bubble tag. At full capacity, the island would still allow roughly two acres of space to each guest, which is peak physical distancing. Still, simple aspects like outdoor restaurants and bars, in addition to unlimited room service, go a long way in protecting everyone.
Making this an even more ideal choice is the option for a full island buyout, a popular concept as islands have reopened, but small groups can save more by booking the "Private Peninsula" offering. Up to four cottages on the eastern peninsula can be reserved, along with a dedicated beach area and outdoor dining option. It's an especially great package for anyone whose goal is to achieve scuba certification, as the island boasts the Caribbean's only Jean-Michel Cousteau Dive Center.
Before planning and booking a trip, be sure to read the requirements and protocols for entry and travel to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. And make sure that you have multiple masks to pack.
