Experience

Tess is a journalist who first began her career as a freelance reporter while in college, when her work appeared in the Long Beach Post and Open Campus. While in school, Tess was also the editor-in-chief of her community college newspaper and a contributor to the CalMatters College Journalism Network. After graduating, she spent a year at the Long Beach Post, covering small businesses, health, education, real estate, tourism, and more, before returning to freelancing. Since then, she has covered topics including travel, sustainability, and food.

Education

Tess graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2022. She also has an associate's degree in photography.
