Experience

Before writing for Islands, Shane worked for Essentialist Luxury Travel for three years as a copy and content writer, building an extensive world-spanning catalogue of everything from parks to hotels, bars to Michelin restaurants, and all manner of tourist attractions. Further back in time, Shane worked freelance for 256Content, Bookwitty, and Enchanting Travels, as well as creating Dublin adventures for the Questo travel app. He even found time to publish for Little White Lies and Monocle magazine as well as star as a film critic for Totally Dublin.

Education

Shane has a B.A. in English and philosophy from UCD College Dublin and an M.A. in journalism from the Independent College Dublin.
