- Kristin loves the natural world and exploring it in as many ways as possible. She's experienced and written about rafting down the Grand Canyon, kayaking with California's sea otters, and skiing in Jackson Hole.
- She grew up in Kansas, has lived on both U.S. coasts, spent a few years in England while getting her master's degree, and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe.
- Kristin is the co-author of the award-winning "Kansas Trail Guide: The Best Hiking, Biking, and Riding in the Sunflower State."
Experience
As a writer for Islands, Kristin is passionate about sustainability and travel, and she's interviewed and worked with change-makers in the industry. Whenever she travels, she seeks out people and experiences that help connect her with a place in an authentic way. She started freelance writing over ten years ago, and she has had bylines in a variety of publications, including 7x7.com, BBC Travel, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Conde Nast Traveler, Paste, Departures, and more. Kristin enjoys learning and telling stories about things impacting the world now, as well as how people can safely and sustainably visit and enjoy new places.
Education
Kristin received her B.A. in English literature from Kansas State University and her M.A. in creative and critical writing from University of Sussex.
