Experience
Dhruv started travel writing in 2018, by which time he had already made his way across several countries in Europe and Asia, as well as road tripped down the US East Coast. A year after he opened his backpackers hostel and bar, the Lazy Llama, it was featured in the Lonely Planet and several other travel guides. Dhruv has since turned his attention to writing full-time and now covers travel and food for Static Media brands, including Foodie, Daily Meal, Chowhound, Mashed, and Islands. His travel articles are aimed at making off-beat locations and hidden gems around the world more accessible to curious travelers, while also offering travel tips that he himself has picked up along the way. Dhruv makes it a point to visit one new country a year, and his most recent escapades include cycling across the island of Mauritius, taking train journeys through Kazakhstan, and diving into the local izakayas of Japan.
Education
Dhruv has a master's degree in economics from the University of Amsterdam.
