- Christine has been a full-time digital nomad since 2017. She is a passionate traveler who has visited around 70 countries and has lived in 12 of them.
- As a regular contributor to Groove Korea, a Seoul-based print magazine, she received award nominations for two of her features (Best Destination Story and Best Food Story).
- She runs two personal travel sites, including a digital publication, where she features various changemakers and highlights the work they are doing to improve their communities.
Experience
Christine has been a freelance journalist, copywriter, content creator, editor, and photographer for the past ten years. She has worked with clients, including businesses, start-ups, publications, non-profits, and individuals, to help them with their communications and journalistic needs. Christine has created written and visual content for the UN Human Rights Office, Future of Good, Groove Korea, Medium, and Crescendo, and she joined Island's team as a Travel News Writer in 2024. She also received a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to attend an artist residency and create a photography project in Iceland.
Education
Christine received certifications in travel photography and travel writing from MatadorU's online journalism program (currently Matador Creators), as well as completing an intensive program at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. She holds a certificate in digital marketing from York University, a graduate degree in international development and project management from Humber College, and a bachelor's degree in film studies.
