7 Reasons To Stay At Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort
Even if you’re not a die-hard Parrot Head, there’s still plenty to love at this South Florida beach resort.
Step into the lobby of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach, Florida, and you'll immediately notice Jimmy Buffett's influence in the tasteful details. A 15-foot flip flop art piece. A chandelier made from floating margarita glasses. Seating areas framed by indoor cabanas, which are painted with "Margaritaville" song lyrics like "nibblin' sponge cake." But even if you're not a die-hard Parrot Head, there's still plenty to love at this AAA Four-Diamond resort. Here are seven reasons to book your stay.
The 17-story property boasts 349 guest rooms, each with a private balcony with Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. (Depending on which category you book, the view will either be the Atlantic or the Intracoastal Waterway.) The spacious rooms are tastefully designed with Jimmy Buffett nods, from the Changes in Attitudes, Changes in Latitudes throw pillow, to the fin-shaped handles on sink faucets (that you turn to the left, turn to the right, of course).
The resort's two main pools are both family-friendly. Kids will love the water slide at the LandShark Pool, while the Lone Palm Pool is more laid-back, with a hot tub and a tiki bar. Want to escape the splashing kiddos? Head to the 11th-floor adults-only rooftop pool for some peace and quiet, where cocktails are provided by the License to Chill Bar. Both adults and kids can try out their surfing skills at the FlowRider wave simulator.
At the namesake Margaritaville restaurant, you simply must order the Cheeseburger in Paradise. The al fresco Landshark Bar & Grill serves up beach bar food (fish tacos, burgers, buffalo Sriracha shrimp), while the upscale JWB Prime Steak and Seafood features prime cuts of steak, fresh fish and a raw bar. Be sure to catch the sunset at the 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, located on the Intracoastal.
The 11,000 square-foot spa is a calming respite from wasting away the day beaching and boozing. A range of services is offered, from the Only Girl in Town Manicure, to the Lost Shaker of Salt Scrub to the Breathe in, Breathe out, Aromatherapy Massage, which uses essential oils. Post-treatment, unwind in the steam room or hot tub.
The beachfront resort is located right along the charming Hollywood Beach Broadwalk (nope, not a typo). The 2½-mile brick-paved stretch is perfect for strolling, with more than 30 shops, 50 restaurants and three oceanfront parks. Grab an outdoor table at a sidewalk cafe and watch the people go by.
Maybe it's the secret recipes or maybe it's a mental thing, but the margaritas really do taste better here. You can't go wrong with a classic Who's To Blame, or spice things up with the Feeling Hot Hot Hot, made with reposado tequila, triple sec and a habanero margarita mix. Mango, ginger citrus and watermelon are also on the menu.
It wouldn't be Margaritaville without live music, and the resort features over 30 local bands. Performances take place nightly throughout the resort, plus at the Hollywood Bandshell, an outdoor amphitheater on the Broadwalk right in front of the property.
