3 Caribbean Bars We Love

Three watering holes put a fresh twist on what you came to the Caribbean for — a good party. With endless drink options, it might be hard to pick a favorite.

Best City Secret: Papa Zouk, Antigua

This little backstreet gathering place once had one of the Caribbean's best rum collections, with raucous late-night parties to match. When a 2014 fire destroyed the building a most of its precious potions, owner Bert Kirchner rebuilt the place in the same spirit, with a few of the same spirits – a new blend made from the surviving bottles: "Fire Rum."

Best Beach Bar: Elvis' Beach Bar, Anguilla

For that toes-in-the-sand, ultra-casual vibe, head to this hang in Sandy Ground. Bonus: It's one of the few places in the Caribbean where NFL SundayTicket comes standard. Want the same ambience on a different island? Pirates Bright in the BVI has all the key ingredients: free-flowing Painkillers in a historic setting (inspiration fro Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, so legend has it) on a pristine beach settled into a pocket bay. Plus, there's something you won't normally find at a dive: A recent renovation added a little polish, but the Bright hans't lost its bite.

Best Hotel Lounge : Graycliff Hotel, Bahamas

A commitment to time-honored island luxury tints everything here. A gentleman hand-rolls cigars and greets arriving guests. Floor-to-ceiling glass cabinets line the lunge, displaying brandies bottled before Napoleon became emperor. The mazelike wine cellar holds more than 250,00 bottles, including many from centuries past. Choose a bottle or three to pair with your grouper Dijonnaise and guava souffle.
