This Remote Caribbean Island Is A Popular Honeymoon Destination For A Reason

When you think of a Caribbean honeymoon, destinations like the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos probably come to mind. But how about Petit St. Vincent? Located in the Grenadines, it's a lesser-known stunning island perfect for experiencing the Caribbean. Petit St. Vincent was desolate until the 1960s and was eventually transformed into a luxury resort. Given that it's a private island, Petit St. Vincent offers honeymooning couples a private getaway. There are only 22 villas available with one or two bedrooms. The villas face the beach, providing awe-inspiring ocean views. While air conditioning and Bluetooth speakers are available, don't expect a TV or WiFi.

Yes, this could be unnerving, especially in our technology-obsessed world. Nevertheless, this gives you and your new spouse plenty of one-on-one time without distractions. One reviewer on Tripadvisor wrote, "My wife and I went for our honeymoon in November 2023 and it is by far one of the best places we have been to. The accommodations, food, service and staff were excellent and we will definitely go back. Petit St. Vincent is perfect for people looking to unplug and have a relaxing vacation away."

Of course, this seclusion and exclusivity will cost you. At the time of this publication, prices for a one-bedroom villa for two range from $1500 to $2450 a night. Meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included. However, Petit St. Vincent also offers honeymoon packages.

Honeymoon fun in Petit St. Vincent

Does Petit St. Vincent sound like your dream honeymoon destination? If so, consider purchasing a honeymoon package. At the time of this publication, prices range from $8,200 to $12,450 for seven nights and eight days in a one-bedroom villa. Meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included in these packages as well. Undeniably, this is a high-priced honeymoon. However, the package features an array of amenities and excursions that might make it worth it. Highlights include a picnic on nearby Mopion Island (pictured). The island is microscopic and has nothing but a small white sand beach that is perfectly romantic.

Moreover, the honeymoon package provides a day trip to Tobago Cays Marine Park, known for its natural beauty and prosperous ecosystem. Room service and a one-hour massage for you and your spouse are also part of the deal. Whether you purchase a honeymoon package or not, all guests have access to the resort's water sports equipment, including kayaks and snorkeling gear.

Other activities offered at Petit St. Vincent include diving courses, hiking, sailing, and island hopping. The resort has two eateries: The Main Pavillion Restaurant and the Beach Restaurant and Bar, both of which serve Caribbean-inspired cuisine. There is also a spa offering an array of beauty and wellness treatments. Simply put, you will never run out of things to do and eat on your honeymoon.

Know before you travel to Petit St. Vincent

Reaching Petit St. Vincent is an adventure in itself. The resort advises visitors to fly to Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados. Then, they will need to take a $700 roundtrip flight (per person) from Barbados to Union Island in the Grenadines. Petit St. Vincent will add the cost of this flight to your hotel bill. From Union Island, visitors must then take a $50 boat ride to Petit St. Vincent. The exact process will be repeated when returning to Barbados to fly home. It's always advised to plan your honeymoon in advance — note that Petit St. Vincent is closed from August until October.
